We’re Bringing Sexy Back!

I’ve recently been inspired to do something out of my comfort zone. It all started as a joke, but ended up blossoming into a wonderful project that, I hope, will inspire mothers all over the country. It all started when I was complaining on my personal blog, about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, that arrives every February. My problem with that particular issue is that the majority of women featured, are childless professional models. Ironic when you think about what the ultimate sex symbol is…fertility. Times have changed and so have the models. They used to be so curvy and gorgeous. They were so sexy because they didn’t look like mannequins. Sure, they weren’t perfect, but that is what made them so great. Some of my readers suggested that I show up those silly little models. I agreed to do it, if other moms would join me.

We are on a mission to bring sexy back! We are going to rightfully reclaim our status as the ultimate sex symbols. I’ve decided to start a blog for just this purpose. It is going to be an homage to the world’s most beautiful woman, the mother. The first issue will be a mock swimsuit issue and will premier in early March. I was hesitant to do it because I thought that not many mothers would be brave enough to participate. I was wrong. I am so delighted at the response that I’ve gotten from all of the moms! It seems that a lot of women share my sentiment and are willing to don a bathing suit to support the cause. I was lenient in the requirements. The moms can wear whatever type of suit they feel comfy in. They can use props to cover certain problem areas. I’ve even asked for some humorous poses, since I’m a humor blogger, at heart. I will also do other themes, on a monthly basis.  We will spotlight a new mom every month. The blog will also include interviews, polls and tips on bringing your sexy back. It will be a touchstone for mothers of all races, shapes and ages.

I can’t wait to get the blog rolling and prove to the world that mothers of all shapes and sizes are beautiful! If you are a brave enough mom to join us, I encourage you to do so. It is good to step out of the comfort zone once in awhile and do something daring! Things like this are what keep us young at heart. You might also be surprised at how foxy you look in your photos!
