True Mom Confessions

Since starting in April, True Mom Confessions has seen more than 100,000 women contribute confessions, from one-line gripes about in-laws, to intimate accounts of diminished sex lives.

“It turns out we’re all riddled with guilt and ambivalence and regret,” one mother says. “We’ve bottled this stuff up for too long. Now it’s time to unload.”

God knows there are times where I am just sick to death of having kids around - when I just need an hour or so all to myself. Having four teens in the house sometimes feels more like I’m doing some sort of ballet style dance through a field of land mines that when pushed just so, result in an explosion of teenage angst and hells fire arguing.

I love the idea behind True Mom Confessions - and while it’s said that dad’s have come late to the party, there are dads confessing their own twinges of guilt and feelings of being a bad parent.

These aren’t stories that you’ll find being featured on Parents Behaving Badly - and they’re not acts that will land most parents in a cozy 9×9 cell, but they are stories and acts that parent, normal, everyday parents experience and end up penalizing themselves over and over.
