Three teen-age New York girls are accused of punching and kicking another girl and recording the beating so it could be shown online.
Two of the girls are 14 and one is 13. The victim is 13.
Police in Suffolk County say the video shows the girl being beaten at a school last month. The video was shown on two Web sites. The girls have been charged with juvenile delinquency and attempted assault.
Police are investigating who taped the incident. Via KQH News
I’d like to open a discussion here on this topic. There seems to be more and more stories of “mean girls” in the news lately. Though I have my own opinions on where these issues may be stemming from, I’d like to invite Super Nanny Rules readers to post their opinions on this topic and what they believe should be done to insure proper punishment.
What would you do?

Attempted assault? Didn’t they beat her up? How is that “attempted” if they recorded it and have proof she was beaten up?
If my daughter had been beaten up, ganged up on, and video taped.. you can bet as my daughter’s Mother I would be pressing charges without any thoughts as to who did it, etc.
Whoever took the video of the beating is an accessory as far as I’m concerned and should also be charged with some sort of neglect or failure to help the girl that was being beaten.

I had to come back and let you know that this was featured (the story not the blog) on CNN tonight on the Larry King Show with Dr. Laura.
Dr. Laura doesn’t look like her picture on the cover of her books. She has a new shorter hair style and is actually quite fabulous and right on with her advice.
I listen to her show every now and then around lunch time to try and get some adult conversation going.. (lol) and to be honest she can be quite harsh. However, she almost always is rude because she’s supposed to be and it’s for the good of the caller OR it’s for the good of the people that have to endure the caller.
More on my thoughts of this you tube thing a little later..

I just can’t believe how different and more bullish girls seem these days compared to when I was in school.
I just don’t get it!
