Has there been a time where Jo Frost had to spank a child because he/she was really bratty? Was there a time she was attacked by a child? If yes, what did she do about it?

    Helen,
To my knowledge Jo has never spanked a child. In her book, she makes a point of mentioning that none of the techniques and tips mentioned involve physical punishment, such as spanking.

As far as being attacked, nothing comes to mind here either. Now, she focuses on toddler and early school age, and several have offered stern resistance to the naughty step for example. Parents have been attacked; the Newton Family comes to mind.

Thank you Cory. Were there times Jo disliked a child because of his/her behaviour? Many of these children are really bad and I wondered how things got so out of control.

I think I read somewhere that Jo got attacked by a nine year old girl who was the oldest of the children. The nine year old used to harm her siblings, scratched Jo and criticized Jo’s speech. What happened to that case? The older the children, the tougher to discipline that is why it is important to nip things in the bud. Some of the children may have some disorders.

I remember the Newton family. That is the interracial family. Many of the children on the show hit their parents. If I have children, there is no way I will allow them to hit me. They do it once and that will be the first and last time they did it.

[…] In a recent comment, Helen asked about Supernanny’s stance toward spanking. While a previous Supernanny Rules poll was pretty evenly split, Supernanny’s stance is firm: Spanking is not necessary. […]
