“The Nitti Family” - The four Nitti boys and their Mom. Darren (10), Matthew (8), Devin (6) and Jared (5) are so violent that they leave serious welts and scars — the oldest son has hit, kicked, punched, spit and head-butted his mother, Lisa. Darren admits that he likes hitting because it “takes out his anger.”
To be honest, through this particular episode, though he comes off like a big mean ogre, the mother’s boyfriend is one that commands my utmost respect. As a former single mother, I can’t even imagine a man wanting to be around those kids, much less live in the same household with them for TWO years!
I lost a great deal of respect for the mother when she would threaten the phone calls to John - who was obviously in this “family dynamic” by choice and can/could leave at any given point. She didn’t seem the least big concerned about pushing him away.
I have to give it to this family - they’ve got far greater courage then I do - There’s no way I would have even attempted dating someone if my children had acted remotely close to what the Nitti boys did.
In the end, they seemed to have a good handle on things, and for the sake of Mom and John, I truly hope they do. Otherwise the countdown to doomsday is on and it will be going quick.

does anyone know the oppostie episode? Meaning the episode where the Mom hits the kids??? What episode it this?

It was a tv show and the children are not that bad and trust me John isn’t going anywhere. the children have had only one father if it is any of your concern and what the heck is a bush baby. You have a lot of nerve saying things like that about children you don’t know or people you know nothing about

I don’t recall the episode in which the mom hit the kids. I can do some digging and see what I can find out.
As for the comment left by Jerry - I believe there were many people who wondered the same. There’s obvious underlying issues with the mother who has so many kids by so many different men and then turns to this poor guy to assume the father figure roll.
Merely questions and thoughts based on what we’ve seen and by her making the choice to appear on the show, she in essence gave us that option.

I would really like to know what bush baby is anyway.Jerry maybe you can answer this for me.
Gayla,I choose to be a father figure to the boys I love them as if they were my own,and I feel like they are . I’ve already raised my own children, Now I have a chance to help in raising our boys . I love it and feel honored to be in their life and part of their upbringing.
Also I would like to say something about Lisa, she is great mother to the boys , maybe a little easy on them at times .You have to give this women some credit she raises 4 young boys, takes care of the house,cooks,cleans and works . So when the boys are out of school and shes home alone with them doing all this stuff you dont see on TV yes it can get hectic. Remember alot more goes on then what you see on TV .

John ~ Thanks for commenting. I always welcome comments from the families who have appeared on the show. I think what Jerry had to say was out of line - however, the questions and comments I posed was more of an open invitation based on what viewers have seen - for the families to share what actually goes on behind the scenes and after the fact.
It’s only through those who know these families that we can truly grow to appreciate and respect them.

Hi I looked up bush babies (Jerry), and found out what they are. Lisa has Graves disease . I think her eye are beautiful . wouldnt change them if I could .

Are you kidding? John doesn’t and never did support his kids from his first wife and for that matter never supported his kids from his second wife. But now Mr Wonderful is supporting 4 kids and Lisa is still married. I think someone has their priorities screwed up

Liz is so right. John has a lot of nerve stating he has “raised” his kids. anyone can go to brevard county child support site, type in john nitti and see how much he owes his other 6 children. If he would man up and pay his x wifes for all the hard work they have done raising his children, it is very likley little miss bug eye would soon be out of the picture looking for someone elses with money because john would be broke!
