SuperNanny - Meet the Mihalik Family
Donna Mihalik - widowed single mom to Blake (11), Cole (8), Aiden (3) and Stephanie (1+½)
Within a matter of four years, Donna had stayed by her son’s side as he battled Leukemia - and just when you think everything is finally looking up, she turns around and loses her husband and giving birth to their two youngest children.
Honestly, I don’t know anyone on the planet that could endure such enormous life changes and challenges and still be able to talk about it, let alone be expected to just pick up and ‘get on with her life.’
One comment that was left here on Super Nanny Rules has asked, what’s so special about Donna?
Quite frankly, I had to blink a few times to make sure I was reading that correctly. How could anyone, let alone, someone who’s supposedly a mother herself ask such a question?
What I observed was a woman who as thrust into the midst of all these challenges and never given the time to grieve or adjust. Certainly, she was ‘doing what she had to do’ but she wasn’t doing what she needed to do.
I truly hope that having Jo Frost intervene helped the situation and that the children and Donna were able to grieve the loss of their husband/father properly and can learn to live their life in honor of him.
There such a difference between living and just existing and I think for the last few years, the Mihalik family has mastered the art of existing without living.
I truly wish them the very best. My thoughts and prayers are with that woman - her challenges are only just beginning.

I have blogged this site before. We were part of the original “Super Nanny”. Blake is still MUCH a part of our lives and we just found out his mother is pregnant again!~!!!!!!! I know we ALL make mistakes, but WHEN DO THEY END? I believe Donna knows how I feel as she has ignored me the last few times we were together. I DO NOT want to judge someone as WE ALL have issues!!!!!, but I feel Blake is falling “through the cracks!”
Brenden, Jimmy and Chris will be graduated from high school in 3 years and then what!?!” Blake is a brilliant child and he could be whatever he wants. I just hope he has enough guidance to be the best he can be!!!! Blake has a definite “anger issue” and I just pray he can work through it. Blake has soooo much potential, but he has to work out the issues between his mother and her “fiance”.
