Sparkling Toilets Courtesy Of My Lil’ Potty Mouths
I took the advice of a reader, cannot remember who it was now, that suggested having kids who curse, clean a toilet. Guess what? It works! The child who was having the biggest problem of curbing his cursing, has quickly learned how much fun scrubbing a toilet is not. I think that he figured I would soon grow tired of supervising toilet scrubbing. He figured wrong. When the toilets were all gleaming white and freshly scented, I moved on to other areas of choice. We continued this little method of curing him, until he thought before spewing obscenities.
Since implementing this idea, we have only had a few other instances where we had to correct kids’ usage of bad words. My house has never been so clean! I’m seriously considering chores as a new means of discipline in our family. It really helps everyone. The kids learn their lessons, the house is a lot cleaner and my workload gets lighter. Everyone wins!
