Parenting by proxy
Potty training. Sleepless nights. Temper tantrums. Some of these more challenging moments of parenthood now are being outsourced.
And I’m not even joking!
I read a quote recently that came from Elizabeth of Career and Kids’ mother — “Why have children if you’re going to let someone else raise them?”
I understand there is a need for hiring a sitter or even a day care, but seriously, must we outsource the times when we’re at home and should be teaching our own children?
God knows I don’t have what it takes to raise four teenagers, but you know what? I’m learning! I’ve never done this before and I’m learning as I go - failing is just a part of it.
This is just a prime example of parenting that makes my blood boil!
