Little Rider toys recalled for lead

by Gayla McCord on June 4th, 2008

Can you believe the ongoing number of toys that are showing up with LEAD?  You’d think after all the pains prior to the holiday season, China would get their asses in gear and stop using the lead based paint.

Just shy of giving your kids a set of pots and pans with a wooden spoon, what are some of the ways people can combat the whole toys made in China deal?

Personally, I’d love to see our government shut down importing AND exporting to China until they got their act together.  Obviously they aren’t wanting to follow rules and laws now - perhaps a little industrial tough love is called for to force them into playing properly.

Do you really pay attention to the toys you give your children?

Do you avoid the “Made in China” label?

What resource, if any, do you rely on for updates on unsafe toys?  Or do you think like a lot of other parents - “we survived the risks so … well, why bother?”

Do you secretly want to give all your “Made in China” toys to your annoying neighbors?

Nope. No secrecy about it. I want to dump them all on the people’s lawns who litter the neighborhood with their gang activity and graffiti.
