I made someone’s day and got the button to prove it!

by Gayla McCord on March 9th, 2008

Jennifer at Tree Hugging Family made my day by saying I made her day and passing on the You Made My Day award to me.

Jennifer awarded it to select people and and now it’s up to me to pass on the award by sharing with all of you - exactly who makes my day.

Now, I know this is supposed to be a meme and that those I pass the award on to are supposed to pass it on, but I’m not a real big fan of holding people to such things - so if they choose to pass it on to 1 or 10 people who make their day, sobeit.  Who am I to take a fun and glorious thing and make it a chore?  It’s not like I’m passing it on to my kiddos!

So here we go in no particular order:

Eliza from Babylune - Eliza has been a friend of mine online for quite some time.  She’s one of those bloggers who can wear many hats and shine.  I’m not sure there’s many topics Eliza doesn’t cover and regardless of whether it’s breastfeeding or underwater basket weaving, she seems to interject a personality into her writing that makes you feel like you’re sitting in her front room sharing a spot of tea with her over what’s being discussed.

Tracee Sioux at BlogFabulous - What’s not to love about the one person that can cause you to spew hot coffee out your nose at 7:00 AM while narrowly missing your computer monitor?  The girls got a way with words.  Albeit they’re aren’t always words for the weak and timid - they do pack a punch.

Julie Bonner at DeClutter It - I absolute adore Julie!  I’m one of those people who likes to be organized but needs a paint by number plan in some cases to accomplish actual organization.  Julie is my go to number gal!  She’s got the organization thing down pat for any of you who missed they day they were handing out the organizational genes pre-birth.

Linette Gerlach at Mother Earth’s Garden - Linette is always my go to gal for those gloomy winter days when I need a virtual taste of spring.  She’s likely not realized it but her blog has brought me through some pretty tough patches this excruciatingly long winter.

Christine & Charlene at Weary Parent - What a fun mix these two have going on over at Weary Parent.  Char has a grip on the sensible parenting and Christine makes us all want to make sure we do.  Sometimes I visit Weary Parent so that I don’t feel so along in this Parenting Gone Wild kinda world.

Deb Ng of Simply Thrifty Deb is one of those women who seems to balance an amazingly HUGE work load and she does so with such grace and style.  Anyone looking to be inspired by a blogger need not look further then our very own Deb Ng.  Trace a path over to her personal blog and check out her portfolio!  I bet you’ll be shocked that one person could do so much!

Karen at Thrifty Mommy - In today’s world, everyone is looking to save a buck or two and Karen introduces both the little and the big ways of saving your family both dollars and time in such sensible ways.  I know she’s saved my family a nice little bundle already :)

Angela at Domestic Divapalooza - Angela is one of those bloggers that shoots straight from the hip.  I adore her as a blogger because she ignites something in me and my writing that I never knew existed.  Had it not been for Angela I’d have never realized just how important my one vote is!  Since meeting and becoming friends with Angela, I’ve exercised my American right to vote and have taken a much stronger interest in learning politics and a focus of issues that are important to me.

Mike from Be a Good Dad - Mike is my favorite blogging dad of all time!  I’ve watched his blog grow right along with his three little ones.  He’s an amazing and entertaining writer and an inspiration.  I’m thinking Mike and Bill Cosby should team up and take their show on the road.

White Trash Mom - What can I say?  I adore this blog and it’s writer!  After reading this blog in one good weekly sitting, I walk away feeling so in touch with my southern roots.  I’ve never been more proud of my hillbilly roots.

While I wish I had time and energy to share with you each and every blogger who makes my every day - I can’t.  They all know who they are and from time to time I can get a mention in.  But having been around the blogosphere as long as I have, I feel like I know and admire half the planet.

Have a good night everyone!  Mwah!  Mama loves blowin’ kisses!
