Childhood and Adolescent Immunization

My kids are due to have maintenance vaccinations in the near future and while thinking about scheduling their appointments, I found myself wondering about the parents that are taking a more different approach to vaccinating then I am. Given the hype over Gardasil and the vaccinating teen girls for HPV - I thought it might be interesting to see what parents are saying about standard vaccinations such as MMR, HepB, DTaP and IPV.
I wonder how many parents have vaccinated their children for diseases that have not been found in the U.S. in many years, versus how many parents are choosing not to vaccinate against a disease that’s killing hundreds and thousands of women a year?
While I have taken the position to have my children vaccinated - I’m intrigued by the arguments that parents who are not vaccinating might be making. Personally, I can’t imagine not taking the side of prevention and caution - but that’s just my thinking.
Have you had your children vaccinated?
If not, why?
