I love scouring mommy blogs for two things, funny stories and cool products. I’ve stumbled upon so many best kept secrets in the world of kid/mommy products and I want to pass some of them on you. Here are two lists, one for the kids and one for you. Feel free to leave your feedback if you’ve ever tried any of the mentioned items.
For The Kiddies
- Pedi Peds: www.pedipeds.com These shoes are the only ones that Ella wanted to wear as a baby. They are completely made of leather and do not fall off of babies’ feet. Pedi Peds are comfortable and make it easier to learn to walk because they are so flexible. On top of it all, there are so many different styles and they are very sturdy! A great buy, in my opinion.
- Chalkboard Wallies: www.thewalldecorstore.comThis easily trumps the spray on chalkboard paint because the panels are removable. They are peel and stick chalkboard panels that can be put anywhere. Four panels will cost about 15 dollars, plus tax and shipping. If you’re not into the whole chalk board idea, they also have adorable murals and other decor to transform an ordinary room into a magical place!
- Blackout Drapery Liner: www.onestepahead.comThis site has so many innovative products, that I could do a whole post on just them. One of my favorite ideas is the blackout shade. My little ones always get up with the sun, which is around 5:30am during the summer. Not this summer! I am putting these shades up and allowing them to get some much needed extra shut eye. Each shade costs about 40 dollars, but the great thing is that they are easily concealed under existing drapery.
- Snap Circuits: www.wonderbrains.comIf you have kids who enjoy taking things apart to see how they work, then this should be their next birthday gift! Snap Circuits is a kit that allows a child to make a fully functioning circuit board with 100 different resulting projects. The junior kit costs $29.97, but it is currently back-ordered. If that doesn’t speak volumes about it’s popularity, I don’t know what does.
- SPF 50 Protective Clothing: www.coolibar.comThis is the only line of clothing recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. They carry rash guards, swim apparel and regular apparel for the whole family. Summer is right around the corner and sun block is limited in it’s protective capabilities. Why not up your child’s skin protection by investing in some quality swim wear from Coolibar?
Mommy Gear
- Fireless Candles: www.ladybugblessings.com For those of you who enjoy the fragrance of candles, but are afraid of the heath risks and fire danger, these are a perfect solution! They can be used anywhere, including your car and are renewable! How cool is that? A half pint jar costs a thrifty 6 dollars and can be renewed up to three times. They make excellent gifts for Mother’s Day or any occasion!
- Origins Gloomaway Body Products: www.origins.comWhat better way to celebrate spring than with an uplifting shower routine? This product line is designed to invigorate your skin and create a sense of happiness. The Jump-start Body Wash is my favorite. At $18.50, it is a little way to treat yourself to the morning life that every mom deserves!
- Wonder Wheeler: www.beachchairs.com This is an awesome product for moms who love to spend their summers at the beach or river. The Wonder Wheeler carries all of your beach going essentials, including chairs! It is easy to store and costs $59.99, which is a price well worth the pain it will save your back and arms!
- Stila Convertible Color: www.drugstore.com Like multitasking? Then you will love this product!! Convertible Color can be used on both cheeks and lips. It gives a translucent color when applied and lends a fresh glow to the face, which we can all benefit from! At 24 dollars, it is a great investment that can easily replace the fifty shades of greasy lipstick and three blushers that are crowding your make up drawer.
- Makeup Expiration: http://cosmetics.suite101.com/article.cfm/makeup_shelf_life speaking of tossing out old makeup, this site is just the tool you need to do a much needed spring cleaning of that nasty make up bag/drawer. In case you were not aware, that Clinique foundation that you’ve had for five years, has an expiration date. Wearing expired make up can do more harm than good to your beautiful face. My suggestion? Go to this site, print it out and get busy on that Spring Make Up Clean Out! It could be the key to clearer skin and a quicker make up routine.
I hope that you enjoyed this post! If you have any products that you’d like to share, just mention them in the comments section or email me and I can do another post in the near future.
