A Supernanny Holiday, #3

When I remember holidays from my childhood, the moments that stand out to me aren’t the presents, but the preparing, especially baking cookies and making decorations with my mom.
This is the perfect time of year to team up with your children on a craft project! It forces you to take a break from the hustle and bustle, and as many psychologists will tell you, ‘using your hands’ to create something is a very calming experience. And of course your kids will be proud of their creations!
As with most things, the emphasis should be on fun and simplicity. This is not the time to get frustrated. So here’s a list of Supernanny-approved links for holiday decorating fun.
Please note: some of the crafts are geared toward Christmas, but can easily be adjusted for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa by changing colors and images. (and vice versa!)
Family Fun : Everything from tiny trees to candleholders.
All Things Christmas : A huge list of simple, creative suggestions.
Hanukkah: A list of decorations and activities. This would be perfect for a Hanukkah ‘party!’
Kwanzaa: Outstanding collection of Kwanzaa decorations, activities, and traditions.
What are you waiting for? Grab the kids and get crafting!
